The Research Centres - Natural Sciences, Aarhus University

In addition to Centers of Excellence and interdisciplinary thematic centres, Natural Sciences has a number of other major research centres financed by, among others, the Novo Nordisk Foundation and the Villum Foundation, as well as interdisciplinary and cross-faculty centres. Bioinformatics Research Centre (BiRC)

Interdisciplinary research centre with focus on developing calculation methods to collect, process and analyse biological data.

Center for Sustainable Landscapes under Global Change (SustainScapes)

Sustainscapes is an international team of biologists, agroecologists, social scientists, and data scientists working together for a sustainable future.

Centre for Science Studies (CSS)

Conducts research into the history and philosophy of science and technology as well as research communication. Under the Department of Mathematics.

Centre for Ecological Genetics (EcoGenetics)

Investigates whether the observed dramatic declines in insect populations have also led to a loss of genetic diversity.

Centre for Biodiversity Dynamics in a Changing World (BIOCHANGE)

Examines the impact of global environmental change on biodiversity. Anchored under the Department of Bioscience and financed by the Villum Foundation.

Center for Multifunctional Biomolecular Drug Design (CEMBID)

Develops multi-functional drugs Anchored at the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO) and financed by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

Danish Research Institute of Translational Neuroscience (DANDRITE)

Research into the brain and the nervous system. Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics and Department of Biomedicine (Health). Supported by the Lundbeck Foundation.
