Jeppe Vang Lauritsen to be acting center director at iNANO
On 1 January 2025, Professor Jeppe Vang Lauritsen will start as the center director at the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center.
Jeppe Vang Lauritsen is a professor of surface physics, and he will take over management of the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO) from Thomas Vosegaard in the New Year.
Jeppe Vang Lauritsen brings with him extensive experience in nanoscience and many years of active participation in the environment at and around iNANO.
Throughout his research career, he has worked with catalysts, and he has a particular interest in the energy industry. Most recently, he has researched new technologies for producing hydrogen, which in the long term can be used to make green fuel.
Jeppe Vang Lauritsen is looking forward to the new challenges that will come with his job as the center director.
"We have some exciting tasks ahead of us in relation to both the degree programmes and the direction of our research. I look forward to leading these efforts.
My first task, however, is to get an overview of all the tasks ahead. Then, together with my colleagues, I'll make a plan for how iNANO can continue to develop. I'm also looking forward to working with personnel management. I've enjoyed this type of work in my role as a research director, because I helping others succeed in what they do," he says.
Birgit Schiøtt, dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, is looking forward to working with the new center director.
"Jeppe Vang Lauritsen is an acclaimed researcher with extensive experience and a strong connection to iNANO. He has been a member of iNANO's management team for a number of years, and his in-depth knowledge of iNANO and its partners will benefit the center. I'm looking forward to working with Jeppe and to him joining the faculty management team," she says.
“I'd also like to thank Thomas Vosegaard for his four years as the center director at iNANO.
Thomas has worked on the use of space in the iNANO building, he's set up new collaborations with several of Tech's departments, and he's assisted in renewing AU's nanoscience degree programmes. He's been a great asset as the center director at iNANO. I look forward to continuing to work with him in his new role," says Birgit Schiøtt.
