Microbial ecologist with expertise in molecular methods and heading the High Throughput Sequencing facilities (Nanopore and Illumina platforms) at Department of Environmental Science. > 10 years’ experience in studying effects of anthropogenic activities on microbial ecology, as well as biotechnological solutions to mitigate these. Current projects apply genomic and transcriptomic approaches to study diversity and functions of microbiomes in natural, agricultural, and engineered systems.
