I am a doctor with a particular interest in cancers of the ear, nose, and throat region. My work primarily focuses on patients with unknown primary tumors in the head and neck area. I completed my PhD at the Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and the Department of Experimental Clinical Oncology at Aarhus University Hospital in this field. Additionally, I am an active member of the Danish Head and Neck Cancer Group (DAHANCA).
My work centers on unknown primary tumors in the head and neck area, particularly in patients with squamous cell carcinoma. Utilizing national registry data, I strive to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of this patient group. My efforts help update Danish guidelines with the latest evidence-based knowledge, ensuring effective diagnosis and treatment, thereby maximizing patient survival with minimal long-term effects.
I teach medical students in the field of ear, nose, and throat. Through case-based group teaching, my goal is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of otorhinolaryngology. This aims to generate interest in the field and ensure future recruitment to the specialty. Additionally, it helps future doctors in other specialties manage simple ENT issues and know when to refer patients to a specialist.
I am affiliated with the DAHANCA group and DSHHO (Danish Society for Head and Neck Oncology) and collaborate with them to develop guidelines for head and neck cancer under DMCG.
